- Brisbane Times is reporting that a man thought to be behind the @Can_do_Campbell Twitter account has been arrested by police after posing with LNP supporters wearing a “I’m with stupid” T-Shirt: “Queensland Election 2015: Police arrest man beind Campbell Newman parody Twitter account”.
The Guardian also reports “Iain Fogerty, the operator of a parody Campbell Newman Twitter account @Can_do_Campbell, was charged with public nuisance after standing next to the campaigners in Brisbane: Queensland man arrested after waving next to LNP campaigners in ‘I’m with stupid’ T-shirt”.
Time Magazine has also covered the story: “A Guy Got Arrested by 10 Cops for Wearing an ‘I’m With Stupid’ T-shirt”.
From Brisbane Times: “The lawyer of a parody Campbell Newman Twitter account operator Iain Fogerty – who was arrested this morning while wearing an ‘I’m With Stupid’ T-shirt at a political rally – says the arrest was unjustified: I’m with stupid’ t-shirt man’s lawyer says arrest unjustified”.
